"Sometimes the songs I write for others are the ones that have the most to teach me. I am learning to love myself more every day.

I wrote 'Learn To Love Somebody' in response to a special lady I was in
relationship with who felt totally unworthy of the love that I had for
her. It was as if the more that I showered her with adoration, the more uncomfortable she became as she could not be convinced that she was worthy and deserving of the great love that I had in my heart for her. In a last ditch attempt to express to her how wonderful I knew she was, how deserving she was of love, I wrote her 'Learn To Love Somebody'.

It is amazing to me how people respond to this song that I wrote in such a personal way for a specific person. It's such a blessing to have people come up to me after a performance of 'Learn To Love Somebody', or to receive e-mail from people who have heard the recording, saying that they are so moved by the song that it beings them to tears every time they hear it. I guess the theme of needing to learn to love yourself before you can love someone else is a universal one that we all can relate to."
